"Renrutia" (Ren-roo-sha) comes from Renrut, my penname. Stumbleupon is great for linking my autobiographical cartoons ("all true, no lie, real stuff") to the people and places depicted. My blog links to my comic tales--click on the cartoon images.

Join me on the rooftop of a ruined mosque outside New Delhi, circa 1974, as my fellow hippies sing and dance to the anthem of our generation, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Click on the image below to see the two page story.

Lee and Margaret Holt, seated in front row of the photo below, invited me to house-sit their home in Springfield, Mass. and run the Court Square peace vigil during the height of the Viet Nam War.

Here is how I depict them circa 1971-1972. Click on the cartoon image to see the full story, "Give Bees a Chance."

They passed away a year ago or so, but not before I rejoined them in Amherst, Mass. at the Peace Vigil they started on the town common, to protest the Iraq War. They were much beloved and are sorely missed.

Jim Woodring produces some remarkable, dream-like imagery.

See his most recent blog about his comic art and the art of others at this site, "JIM WOODRING'S IVORY TOWER ART OUTLET".

I kind of like these strange cartoons. The artist also does a great deal of work about and for parents and kids. These, however, have an edge.

An unlikely combination--punk commentary on Buddha. But what the heck. Buddha wouldn't mind, so why should we.
